still here

I want to be here again. Better times with my family in a beautiful city. Instead we're coming to the end of a kitchen renovation and I've been sewing up a storm at Sister's house. My sister and parents have been really supportive through this whole thing. It's good to know I have someone to count on during tough times.

Enough sap. I'll hopefully have some pictures and an announcement on Monday. Good things.

Oh how I wish I knew about placing beads with crochet hooks before I started the Liquid Silver shawl. Here's a very good tutorial for it at Rosemary Go Round.

Also, I really want a king size bed for when Daughter has bad dreams. She's there for less than five minutes, but that five minutes could be so much more comfortable. Maybe someday.

still here

The kitchen's all gutted which is ruining my crafting mojo. Did you know that when the kitchen is in the center of your home it will make a mess of the whole house when you tear it down to the studs? Now you do. Just trust me and don't try it yourself.

Yesterday

Finished that mobile. Also fixed the straps on a bag for a customer. It was a freak thing. I have no idea how it happened as I've used those straps before and never had a problem. I was very happy that she contacted me so I could make it right and I'm hoping she likes the new and improved straps.

Daughter is in love with this and it's not even finished. I'm a little afraid she's going to want one for her room.

WIP

The start of two good things just to prove I'm not a complete slacker. It's true that I've spent a lot of time at the Museum of Science and Industry in front of the baby chicks though.

First, about half of the Liquid Silver shawl. The photo doesn't really do it justice.

And what will become a mobile. Adapted from the Branch Mobile (careful, that's a rav link) from Amigurumi Two! I wasn't fond of the way the birds in her book were coming out so I used the pattern (rav link again) from Crochet Today magazine from a few issues back.
