sweater and curtains

I finished sweater #7 and totally forgot to take a photo. It's already been given away as a gift, so hopefully one day when the parents aren't waking up every 2 hours I'll be able to get a photo. For the record though, it was the Sock Yarn Sweater (purchased on Ravelry) and used Knitpicks Stroll Tonal Sock Yarn in Kindling. It only used about half a skein, so I'm planning on making a pair of socks for Son with the rest. The parents loved it (or at least they said they did) because it is a perfect weight for layering on cool spring days or summer nights and it's a wide neck for easy (or easier) dressing of a newborn.

So that I do have something to show you, here are the curtains I made for Daughter's room a while ago. They've been hung for a couple of weeks and the photos have been taken I just had other things to write about since then.

This is the full view of the curtain when it's tied back (which it usually is because I like sunlight). The tie backs were an afterthought when she complained she couldn't keep them open. We just used a small hook (like you would for coffee cups) and button holes. Like so:

It works really well and she's able to open and close them on her own. She chose the fabric herself after trying to get me to make the curtains out of tulle and satin, I think she chose well. There are butterflies on it which match the butterfly decals on the upper part of one of her walls. And of course there's pink in her room (you know, before the blue phase kicked in).

Also, don't forget about the giveaway!
