they're reproducing!

bunny hats

I'm not really sure why the pink one is the lucky one on the pedestal. I guess because it started there. Anyways, I was going to show you the curtains I made for Daughter's room and make it a full Daughter week, but they need some adjustments. Hopefully I'll get them done this weekend. Instead, this is what I've been knitting for the last week and a half. I know they look simple, but they each take at least a day to complete and that's if I'm only knitting that day (as well as regular day to day stuff). Typically, one hat takes a day and a half to complete because I just can't only knit in my spare time (my wrists would hate me...and my knuckles). The hat itself only takes a couple hours. It's those ears that are so time consuming.

I actually pick up the stitches for the ears using a crochet hook directly on the hat. A bit tricky, but I feel like the ears are on a bit better than if they were sewn. Which is important considering the ears will probably be pulled with little hands. I'm all for sturdiness and ears that stay on the hat. I do the same for the inner ear. I also do this because I HATE sewing on knitting and crochet work.

A closer view of the new hats. I think the purple one is my favorite. Oh, and there are totally oranges under those hats to give them some shape. Now you know my secret.
